<p>Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, who turned 61 on Saturday, visited popular Tamil writer Ki. Rajanarayanan and honoured him.<br /><br /></p>.<p>"Kamal visited Rajanarayanan at his residence this morning in Puducherry along with Suka, the writer of his forthcoming Tamil film 'Thoongaavanam'," a source close to Haasan told IANS.<br /><br />The source further added that Kamal honoured the prolific writer with Rs.100,000 and spoke briefly about his health, among various other things.<br /><br />A recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award, Ki Ra, as he's fondly known, has served as the professor of folklore studies in Pondicherry University in the 1980s.<br /><br />On Saturday, Kamal will host a special birthday party for family and close friends here.</p>
