Naval exercises held to improve security

 Ahead of the seventh anniversary of Mumbai attacks, two major naval exercises — Sagar Kavach along the Maharashtra coast and Defence of Gujarat — were conducted along the Western Seaboard in the Arabian Sea to review the security preparedness.

While Sagar Kavach culminated on Friday evening, the Defence of Gujarat was held recently, according to officials of the Defence Ministry and Western Naval Command (WNC), the sword arm of the Indian Navy. The Sagar Kavach tests the security mechanism of the entire state and involves close cooperation of various stakeholders.
