The design team at John Players has brought out an attractive range of shirts, T-Shirts, sweaters with prints of numeric graphics and jackets. It has gone beyond the black, grey and blue and they have done well to experiment with blending bright colours such as spicy orange, pepper yellow and sour lime to unveil some stunning winter wear.

The distinct collections of the brand include ‘JP Univ’ which come in a range of classic colours of red, white and blue with varsity graphics and sports badges. ‘John Players Jeans’ has an entire range of Indigo theatrics denim wear, showcasing contemporary fits in experimental washes with bold styling. The ‘laser-printed tattoo denims’ bring out the intricate patterns achieved by laser technology.

The designers say that they try to create something new every season and make every collection distinct. They incorporate what they have understood from their market research into the designs.

Talking about what keeps the brand ahead of its competitors, Atul Chand, divisional chief executive — ITC’s Lifestyle retailing business division, says, “The collection is all about being trendy, playful and euphoric, with a twist to match the attitudes of the fun-loving youth of today. Our styling bouquet for young men is a line that comes in vibrant colours, striking prints and contemporary.”

Delving into the finer details, the design team observes that the young prefer stylised semi-formal shirts as office wear. There is a whole range of mix and match, slim-fit shirts with innovative collar patterns, giving it a peppier, fresher and younger feel.

About accessories, the team says that if it is a casual outfit then men must choose something that goes with contrasting combinations. If it is a formal wear, then it is best to keep things simple and straight.
