Godrej Interio targets kitchens

Last Updated 24 November 2015, 19:28 IST
Large homegrown conglomerate Godrej Interio unveiled its latest lifestyle modular kitchen gallery brand Cuisine Regale on Tuesday, with an aim to draw Rs 50 crore in revenues from it over the next two years.

Cuisine Regale joins a niche group of other (largely international) premium modular kitchen players, with a total business of Rs 300 crore, and growing at 15-20 per cent. The larger kitchen space, pegged at Rs 3,000 crore, is growing slower at 10 per cent.

“The whole idea of Cuisine Regale is to cater to evolved consumers, who have emerged aspirational, and want to derive new experiences. Kitchens today are no more just cooking places, but have integrated into hubs for conversations, parties, and interactions,” Godrej Interio COO Anil Mathur said.

The company has invested Rs 200 crore into a plant at Shirwal, near Pune, which will manufacture kitchen bodies, shutters, and other components.

Cuisine Regale’s kitchens are priced between Rs 50,000 and Rs 10 lakh, and the company is targeting interior designers, homes and builders for its business push. It also opened a new 2,000 sq feet store in Bengaluru on Monday. “We plan to open 20 stores in the country over the next two years, for which we would invest Rs 100 crore, as part of front-end investment. Our target is to have 15-20 per cent market share in premium kitchens over the next five years,” he added.
