Police net man wanted in 5 murders
Sunil was caught while preparing to kill a rival
The City Crime Branch police on Saturday arrested notorious rowdy Sunil and four of his associates.
Sunil has been wanted by police in many cases including five murders.
Those arrested along with Sunil are R Manjunath (24) of Rajajinagar, Kumar alias Sambar (21), Madhav (22), both of KP Agrahara and Balasubramanya (24) of Malleswaram.
The police also averted a possible murder of a rowdy with the arrests. A revolver, three bullets, four lethal weapons, five cellphones and a car were seized from them.
Receiving a tip-off on Saturday evening that Sunil and his gang members had planned to kill their rival, Brake Jaggy of Gayathrinagar, and they were waiting near Milk Colony in Subramanyanagar to ambush him. The police rushed to the spot, surrounded the suspects and arrested them.
Besides the murder cases, Sunil alias Sunil Kumar is also wanted by police in connection with seven attempts to murder and a case of kidnap.
Several criminal cases have been registered against him in Rajajinagar, Vijayanagar, Shankarpuram, Seshadripuram, Subramanyanagar police stations and also in Bidadi police station in Ramanagar district.
Sunil and his associates had killed their rivals Bullet Ravi and his friend Srinivas in front of a gym in Yelahanka police limits and Sunil and Devaraj in Hennur police limits last year.
R Manjunath is involved in four cases including two murder cases, while Kumar is involved in three cases including one attempt to murder case, police added.
