Meeting of ICC Board on scheduling under FTP from Feb 10

Dubai, Feb 8 (PTI)

The International Cricket Council will begin to consider the location and scheduling of ICC events after 2015 under the newly agreed Future Tours Programme when its Executive Board meets here on Wednesday and Thursday (FEb 10 and 11).

In its first meeting of the year, the ICC Board will also consider ways in which greater context can be afforded to Test, ODI and Twenty20 International cricket outside major ICC events.

The Board will also receive an update on preparations for the 2011 Cricket World Cup 2011, which will take place in Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka.

"With Future Tours Programme post-2012 now agreed in principle, the Board will continue to consider ways in which greater context can be afforded to Test, ODI and Twenty20 International cricket outside major ICC events," ICC said in a statement.

"The Board will consider updates from the ICC Chief Executives' Committee which has established a working group to look into this ongoing matter. The group comprises David Collier, David Richardson, Nishantha Ranatunga, N Srinivasan and James Sutherland. This discussion will also incorporate general ways in which international cricket can be further promoted," the statement added.

"The Board will begin to consider the location and scheduling of ICC events after 2015 in the context of the newly agreed Future Tours Programme."

The ICC Board will also take up Cricket Ireland's expression of intent to apply for Full Membership of the world body. "The ICC Board will hold a discussion on how to deal with that application and the Governance Review Committee's consideration of current membership criteria," the ICC said.

The Board will hear a report from the latest ICC Chief Executives' Committee meeting, receiving updates on such issues as the umpire decision review system, the composition of the ICC Cricket Committee and outcomes from the ICC/MCC joint strategy session.

"The Board will hear updates from a number of committees and task teams, including those charged with looking into the ways of supporting Pakistan and general security around international cricket," the ICC statement said.

The ICC Board consists of the chairman or president from each of the 10 Full Members plus three Associate Member representatives. The ICC President will chair proceedings of the Board meetings. Also present will be the ICC Chief Executive and the ICC Vice-President, as well as, by invitation of the President, the ICC Principal Advisor.
