Nooriya tests positive for drugs
Nooriya Haveliwala had not only consumed beer and driven her car at neck-breaking speed under the influence of alcohol, but had also taken drugs like morphine and cannabis before hitting a cab and killing two persons in Mumbai ten days ago, a medical report stated on Wednesday.
Nooriya’s blood samples had been sent by investigators to a forensic laboratory. The report, which was received by the Mumbai police on Wednesday, concluded Nooriya had also done drugs.
“We received Nooriya’s drug report from the forensic lab today and she has tested positive for narcotic substances like morphine and cannabis,” Additional Commissioner of Police R K Padmanabhan said.
“We would now seek her custody again to find out from where she procured the drugs and the quantity she had consumed,” Padmanabhan said.
