On a spice trail

Located on St Marks Road, ‘MISU’, an impressive, modern Asian fine-dining restaurant, showcases some of the most authentic dishes of the cuisine. While the rooftop space was shrouded in mystery for a while, a new place has now been unveiled for Bengalureans.
The interiors of the restaurant are quite vibrant.

Elegant yet with a casual appeal, the place gives out an impressive aura from the
moment you enter. With plenty of dishes from China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam, the place has a quirky collection of dim sums, sushi and fresh seafood.

Adding to the charm of Bengaluru’s pleasant weather are the ‘Pomelo salad’ and the ‘Tom yum soup’.

The salad has a subtle hint of spice with the cashew and the pomelo fruit balancing out the flavour.  The soup is quite refreshing.    

Their speciality is the steamed dumplings, especially the rainbow dumplings, which are a visual treat. The chicken filling in the dumplings is tasty. There is a big list of steamed dim sums and Korean cakes to choose from.

In the seafood section, the ‘Pla NeugManao’, a steamed red snapper fish simmered over fresh lemongrass, chilli and oyster sauce, is a flavourful dish.

The ‘Ikan Pepe’ is basically chunky basa fish wrapped and steamed in banana leaf with fragrant ginger and Asian spice.

The beef as well as the other chicken starters are delectable. Rare but oddly satisfying is the vegetarian sushi that they serve. The ‘Spicy tofu avocado maki’, a sushi that has strong flavourful avocado and soft tofu, is quite a delight. The one pot ‘Khow suey’ is served on a platter along with numerous fillings and is immensely satisfying.

The desserts at the restaurant are delicious. The ‘Lemongrass flavoured Singapore ice cream sandwiches’ simply melt in your mouth. The ‘Tamarind ice cream’ is a must-have. The ‘Cinnamon flavoured bao with crispy banana honey fritters’ also provides a perfect end to your meal.
