Last Updated 07 February 2016, 19:18 IST

Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan’s claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met underworld don Dawood Ibrahim at the residence of his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in Lahore in December last year has left the Central government refuting it as a totally false statement.

After Khan’s claim made headlines, an official statement on behalf of the Centre said, “There are reports that the prime accused of the serial Mumbai blasts Dawood Ibrahim was also present during Narendra Modi’s meeting with Nawaz Sharif in Lahore on 25th December 2015. These statements are baseless, unfounded and totally false.”
