Farmers do their mite to tackle fodder crisis

In fact, they have not had good yield this year but they are trying out every measure to save their cattle from going starved.

While those having irrigation facilities are growing green fodder and dry grass is being stocked in homes where water is a scarcity.

The taluk has a good number of Jersey cows and buffaloes. But owing to loss of crop this year, the availability of dry grass is narrow in the region.

Considering this farmers have begun to grow jowar and also hibreed grass to be used as fodder. These crops are being grown as supplement crops. This, farmers feel, will help the scarcity of fodder for cattle.
