Speaking to reporters, Halappa said as assured by the government, rice will be sold at Rs 16.50 per kg and wheat at Rs 11.70 per kg at cooperative institutions, ration shops and janata bazaars for APL families. The minister had announced the same in the first week of February, but the scheme had failed to take off due to non-arrival of stocks.
