Prime Minister Narendra Modi said presentation of the Union Budget in Parliament on Monday will be his “examination by 125 crore people of the country”, but he was confident of his success.

He was giving a pep talk to Class X and Class XII students during his “Mann Ki Baat” monthly radio programme on Sunday, ahead of their board examinations, which is set to begin from March 1.

“I also have an examination to face tomorrow. One hundred and twenty five crore people of the country are going hold this examination. You know about it or not? It’s (presentation of) budget tomorrow. You must have realised from my voice how healthy and confident I am. May all of us succeed, then country will succeed,” Modi said.

He asked the students to take their board examinations “confidently” without coming under burden of fulfilling expectations of their parents, teachers or other family members.
“Examinations are not merely about marks. Every examination is a step towards achieving the great purpose,” he said. The prime minister also aired messages by ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, chess grandmaster Vishwanathan Anand, eminent scientist C N R Rao and spiritual guru Morari Bapu to motivate the students. “Do not worry, do your best,” Rao said in his message.

In his message, Tendular suggested the students that they must set their “own targets” instead of coming under burden of fulfilling expectations of their parents, teachers and other family members.

“Did you listen what Tendulkar ji said? Do not come under the burden of fulfilling expectations,” Modi added.

He suggested the students to practice Yoga and deep breathing exercises, if possible.
Modi asked the students to learn techniques of “checkmating” from Vishwanathan, before he aired the Chess grandmaster’s message on radio for them.
