Kent RO on Wednesday launched its Smart RO water purifier Kent Superb, priced at Rs 25,000, in Bengaluru. The first-of-its-kind water purifier is a touch-operated device with an inbuilt microcontroller, which senses water quality on a real time basis.
Targetting the tech-savvy customer base in the City, Kent RO Systems Director Varun Gupta said, “We are taking a leap towards digitisation by introducing Kent Superb,” adding, “Within the next three months, we plan to launch the IoT-enabled version of the Smart RO water purifier.”
The company claims about 30% share in the organised market for water purifiers, a 1.5 million units industry. It hopes to close the year with 6 lakh RO purifiers in sales. Further, “At this rate, we expect the Smart RO water purifier to contribute up to 5% of the sales in the following year,” said Gupta.
The company has also launched its new range of air purifiers, for which it plans sales of 50,000 units by this year-end. Two variants of air purifiers are priced at Rs 15,000 and Rs 22,000, the former covering an area of up to 250 sq feet and the latter 400 sq feet.
