BharatBenz launches medium duty trucks

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler, launched its new generation of BharatBenz medium duty trucks MD in-power.

Featuring four new generation medium duty BharatBenz models (914R, 1214R, 1617R and 1217C), the new trucks are launched each in a base and a premium variant, and is commercially available at its dealership Trident Trucking in Bengaluru.

The prominent feature is the multi-drive mode (MDM), which allows drivers to optimise engine settings either for urban traffic or highway trucking, with the push of a button.

Further, new key features include better low-end torque and contemporary styling. Keeping its commitment to a clean environment, the new BharatBenz range of MDTs is available in BS-III, BS-IV and Euro-V ready.

Daimler India’s domestic sales increased by 37% to 14,000 units. Exports of FUSO-branded vehicles also continued to grow, including more than 20 markets already in South East Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, the company said. Since the BharatBenz market launch in September 2012, 20 products have been introduced, and over 30,000 BharatBenz vehicles were delivered to customers.
