Kumaraswamy to launch campaign against BJP Govt in Karnataka

Bangalore,Feb18(PTI)

JDS leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today said he will soon launch a movement over ''maladministration'' of BJP government.

Kumaraswamy's announcement comes close on the heels of his father and JDS chief H D Devegowda launching a "farmers awakening tour" to protest alleged acquisition of farm land for creation of land bank.

'I have been accused of being responsible for BJP coming to power in Karnataka.I will have to do something now.I plan to launch a campaign against maladministration of BJP government, which has put up its decisions for sale",Kumaraswamy told reporters here.

Flaying Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa's governance,he alleged that finances were in shambles and development has come to a halt.

"Yeddyurappa now says his coming budget will have more programmes for farmers. What happened to those announced in his last budget. How many of them have been implemented. Let him place these facts before the people and also on the financial position of the state", Kumaraswamy said. JDS is not conpsiring against the BJP government, he said refuting Yeddyurappa's allegations in this regard.

Kumaraswamy, who led the JDS-BJP coalition government for 20 months in 2006, but later reneged on honouring power sharing pact with the saffron party, dismissed claims of development ushered in by the BJP government. Devegowda is on a statewide tour since February 16 opposing acqusition of 1.71 lakh acres of land for creation of land bank.
