India blank Sri Lanka

Indian girls blanked Sri Lanka 3-0 in their Group D encounter on the opening day of Junior Fed Cup at the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) complex on Monday.

Mahak Jain didn’t drop a game against the Janali Manamperi to take the first singles 6-0, 6-0 before Sathwika Sama consolidated the lead by beating Ankita Senevirat 6-1, 6-3. The doubles pair of Shivani Ingle and Sama then dismissed Anya Gunawardena and Anika Seneviratne 6-1, 6-2 to complete the rout. In the other Group D match, Uzbekistan beat Korea 3-0.

India will play Uzbekistan on Tuesday. In the Group A matches, Japan drubbed Kazakhstan 3-0 while Malaysia got the better of New Zealand 3-0.
