Music soothes the soul, as the legend Bob Marley rightly quotes, “One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” ‘Foolish Art’ is a Bengaluru-based band that has come a long way since its inception.

The band consists of Joshua Barna on drums, Jonathan Barna on bass guitar, Suraj  K Tomy on keyboard, Vrushab S Angre on lead guitars and Sanketh Dylan Noronha on lead vocals and guitar. Their stage name has not been trade marked as of yet. The ‘Foolish Art’ write their own songs which make them all the more pleasing.

The name ‘Foolish Art’ is truly intriguing. When asked about how they came up with the name, Sanketh says, “We were looking at things we had in common and the only thing in common was that we are all ‘fools’. So, we finalised on the name ‘Foolish Art’ as fools make music and music is art.”

They got together in the year 2012, and have since played a variety of genres from pop and slow rock to jazz and blues.

“Our songs are mostly about the things we’ve experienced and we try to incorporate that same emotion not just in the lyrics but also in the musical compositions!” says Sanketh.

When asked whether they had a written a band agreement, he immediately says, “No. We’re the best of friends and we don’t need anything written.”  That is what makes this band truly special — the bond they share.

They are influenced by artistes like Bruno Mars, ‘Coldplay’, ‘Bon Jovi’, ‘Walk the Moon’ and even ‘One Direction’. The band rate themselves a 7 out of 10 for stage performances as there is a lot that they still have to learn. They claim that the audience is the most important factor as they cannot work well without people engaging with them. “The main aim of playing is to get the crowd going and making sure they have an amazing time,” says Sanketh.

They state that their greatest achievement is how they began as a small college band and never lost a single competition. Moreover, staying together would also be a point in bold on their list of achievements.
