JOIN USA fine performance from their bowlers, led by Abhishek’s four-wicket haul, saw Neptune CC thump Young Lions by eight wickets in the under-17 category of the Tiger Cup cricket tournament for schools and clubs here.
Batting first, Young Lions were all out for 154 in 27 overs. While Abhishek (4/27) did most of the damage, Piyush (3/27) and Chayank (2/26) shared five wickets between them for Neptune.
Rithik BK then slammed a half-century (69) to help Neptune knock down the target in 24.3 overs.
In the under-12 category, a collective effort from their batsmen spurred BUCC (A) to a comfortable 43-run win over DPS (South).
BUCC (A) batted first and posted a total of 225 for five in 30 overs. Rohan struck a half-century (58) while Prakhar (45) and Hari M (43) also made useful contributions.
In reply, DPS (South) were restricted to 189 for nine in 30 overs. Sireesh and Chiranth scored 39 and 29 runs respectively for the team.
