Maneyapanda twenty-10 hockey fest from April 15

Addressing a press meet on Tuesday, Utsava core committee vice-president M C Belliappa and joint secretary M M Ganapathy said the hockey utsav will be held at Ponnampet PU College maidan. Union Minister for Sports M S Gill or Indian Olympics Association President Suresh Kalmadi will be invited for the inauguration.

Preparations
Hockey utsav is being held in association with Tata Coffee. The work on setting right the maidan has already begun. About seven to ten lakh spectators are likely to attend the utsav.

The modern sitting gallery will be constructed to accommodate 30,000 spectators at a time. 250 Kodava families with 3,500 players will take part in the tournament.

Finals on May 16
The final match will be held on May 16. Rs 15 lakh will be collected from Maneyapanda family members. The expenditure for the tournament is Rs 50 lakh. Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah has assured to provide help from the government for the utsav, he added.
Every day 12 teams will play the match. Lucky draw will be held daily.
