Sansui — known for its televisions, air conditioners and mobile handsets — is planning to expand its product offerings, according to a top company executive.

“We plan to expand our product offerings by introducing audio systems and washing machines by Diwali,” Sansui Chief Operating Officer Amitabh Tiwari told Deccan Herald.

“As part of our offerings in the refrigerator segment, we are only selling direct cool refrigerators. The company intends to introduce frost-free range by Diwali,” Tiwari added.
Sansui, the leading Japanese consumer electronics brand, had started its India operations in 1997. The company, which sold one lakh televisions and had a market share of 6% in calendar year 2015, is bullish about the prospects of its new launches and is aiming for a higher market share in CY2016.

“The total market for TVs in India is expected to be 1 crore panels, and we expect to sell 10 lakh units in this calendar year, and are aiming for a market share of 10%,” Tiwari said.

“This year, we have already sold 2.43 lakh units, a rise of over 100% as compared to the total sales, last year,” Tiwari added.

Sansui recently launched its all new TV series, the Sansui Curve 4K Ultra HD LED with Golden Bezel. Its other premium offerings include a 4K Ultra HD LED, Smart Connect TV and Full HD TV. The company had 37 stock-keeping units, last year, and has added on to its portfolio, and currently, has 47-48 SKUs.

Sansui is also hoping for an extended improvement in its financial performance going forward. The company is also exploring opening its exclusive outlets in the future.

“Last year, we had revenues of around Rs 1,600 crore, and this year (CY2016), we are aiming to end with revenues of around Rs 2,500 crore,” Tiwari said.
