<p>Krishna, who obtained his Masters of Laws degree from the SMU Dedman School of Law of the University in 1959, is the only Indian and a person outside the US to be selected by the Awards Committee.<br /><br />Each year, the law school recognises graduates who have distinguished themselves in their professional achievements, philanthropy, public service or by rendering outstanding service to the Dedman School of Law.<br /><br />The announcement of the award was made at a function held in Dallas of Texas.<br />Sanjiv Arora, Consul General of India in Houston represented India at the function.</p>
