Arasu Mandali Sangha, which enjoys the patronage of the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru, has sought a high-level probe into the pre-wedding photo-shoot of a young couple held at the ornate durbar hall of Amba Vilas Palace in the city recently.

Lingaraj Urs, a member of the Sangha, told reporters on Sunday, “During a recent meeting at the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) pertaining to the birth anniversary celebrations of Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, the authorities concerned were impressed upon for a higher-level probe into the photo-shoot incident”.

Lingaraj clarified, even though the investigation comes under the purview of the Police department, the Sangha members, who are concerned with the customs and tradition associated with the Palace, came out with a spontaneous opinion for a higher-level probe.
Following media reports over the incident, the ACP of Palace Security Force Shylendra is investigating into the incident, following directions by Deputy Commissioner C Shikha, the executive officer of the Palace Board.

Lingaraj said that a memorandum has been already submitted to the DC to ensure that truth prevails in the case.

The incident

The photo-shoot, in filmy style, is suspected to have happened inside the durbar hall and kalyana mantapa in the first or second week of February. The couple identified as B N Adithya, son of a former bureaucrat, and Navyatha, married later in a two-day ceremony on February 27 and 28. The photo-shoot came to light when a Hyderabad-based professional photographer made it public online.
