Finding Dory
English (U) Cast: Ellen DeGeneres,
Albert Brooks, Ed O'Neill
Directors: Andrew Stanton & Angus MacLane

Thirteen years after “Finding Nemo”, here comes the sequel with a similar title “Finding Dory”. One thing that kept film lovers guessing was whether the film will be all about finding Nemo’s sidekick Dory, the blue tang, who lost her way in the ocean.

The theme is similar, but with a twist. The film’s plot is largely based on Dory’s (voiced by DeGeneres) regained memory. Dory, one fine day, remembers the happy times she spent with her parents along the California coast. So, she requests the help of Marlin and Nemo to find her own family. However, on the way they get separated off California coast when scientists get hold of Dory. Dory’s misfortune, however, turns out to be a chance to meet new creatures and new adventure.

Touted and promoted as a sequel that should not be missed, “Finding Dory” certainly meets the hype. The voices of DeGenneres and O'Neill are beautifully laced with the emotions and cheerful glee of their characters as they experience different emotions in the course of their journey. In addition, we are introduced to new characters like Hank who tries everything to prevent Dory’s freedom.

Kids are also going to love new characters like the whale shark, a beluga and the sea lions. Though the Nemo magic is no longer there, Pixar’s latest animated flick is visually impressive, entertaining and thought-provoking.
