Minister warns of legal action
Higher Education Minister Aravind Limbavali has threatened to take action against those lecturers who are opposing the transferring of 80 acres of land of Hampi University to Vijayanagar Revival Trust.
Addressing a press conference in Bangalore on Saturday, the Minister said if professors try to misguide people on this issue, then legal action will be initiated. The Trust has been set up to raise funds for the University. The land has not gone to private hands. The Trust is on the lines of Kuvempu Trust. The tourism department is planning to establish a theme park in 220 acres to depict the erstwhile glory of Vijayanagar and Hampi, he said.
