Homestudio, an ecommerce modular homes solution startup based in Bengaluru, has bet big on after-sales service.

The company also set up a 10,000 sq feet experience zone in Sarjapur recently, with an investment of Rs 2 crore, and plans to open such zones in other cities too.

Alok Duggal, founder and COO of Homestudio.com, said, “Service centres in the furniture market are unheard of, but we are focussing on life-long service, along with R&D and warehousing.”

All in the experience
Talking about the experience zone, he said, “It’s not like any other showroom, you can step in and change colours and experience all about furniture and finishing.” Homestudio has partnered with German companies to offer the furniture range online, including modular kitchens, beds, TV units, wardrobes, and shelfing, among others.

TV units, shoe cabinets and book shelves are moving faster online, he said.

The cost of two-bedroom starts at Rs 7 lakh upwards, and going forward, Homestudio wants to complete a project in seven days. “Everything is pre-designed, and we have designers who cater to one’s needs. We have done 100 homes so far in Bengaluru, and we are targeting 6-7 cities in future. We are also aiming at 1,000 homes in Bengaluru within a year, and it’s very much achievable,” he said.

The modular homes solution startup wants to invest more in back-end technology. “We are also planning to sell sofas and dining tables, and are looking for partnerships,” he said.
