JOIN USThe High Court on Friday issued notices to Dr Sreedhar, in-charge vice-chancellor and registrar Dr Jagannatha Reddy of Visvesvaraya Technology University in a contempt petition filed by one Vasudev Murthy.
The petitioner has contended that the single bench had directed the incharge VC to take action in accordance with law after the Chancellor had withdrawn the appointment of Dr Reddy as VTU registrar on May 28. Despite the directions from the single bench, the registrar continues to function in the university.
The petitioner has sought directions from the court to take action in keeping with provisions of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 for not complying with the court directions. A division bench comprising Justice N Kumar and Justice S Sujatha ordered notice and adjourned the hearing.
