'The Mummy' actor Aharon Ipale dies at 74

Israeli actor Aharon Ipale, best known for his role in "The Mummy" franchise, has died after a battle with cancer. He was 74.

The Morocco-born star died on Monday at his home in Israel, reported Deadline. He is survived by his daughter.

His death has been confirmed by his manager Susan Ferris. "For the past 15 years I have had the honour, and the pleasure, of working with Aharon Ipale. We are deeply saddened by his loss," said Ferris.

The actor was best known for his role as Pharaoh Seti in the Brendan Fraser-directed "The Mummy" series. Ipale's acting career spanned over five decades.

He began his career with TV series "General Hospital" in 1963. Ipale worked on TV shows like "Charlie's Angels", "Miami Vice", "Hawaii Five-O" and "Taxi".

The actor also featured in 2007 film "Charlie Wilson's War", "Ishtar" (1987) and 1993 movie "Son of the Pink Panther".
