Spanish bathroom solutions giant Roca Group has bet big on India, with plans to boost production.

Roca Bathroom Products currently operates seven factories in India, out of the group’s global 76 factories, with the total installed annual capacity at the Indian facilities at 5.5 million ceramic pieces, 1.9 million faucets, 1.5 million plastic cisterns, and 1.5 million plastic seat and covers, respectively.

“As part of our future plans, the group will continue investing around Rs 50-60 crore every year in India to enlarge our production capacity, enhance our quality processes and laboratories, and develop and launch many new products. We want to increase our sales by 15% annually,” Roca Bathroom Products Managing Director Pau Abelló Pellicer told Deccan Herald.

“At the same time, we are evaluating the possibility to construct some more factories in our premises to start the production of other bathroom products,” Pellicer hinted.

Roca, which came to India in 2006, today has a range of bathroom fittings and solutions (toilets, water closets, basins, faucets, furniture, and bathtubs, among others) across its six brands namely, Armani Roca, Laufen, Johnson Suisse, Roca, Parryware, and Johnson Pedder, catering to every kind of customer. Parryware contributes 85% to Roca’s overall sales volumes every year.

While Roca imports a range of its products for the India market, it also exports from here.
“We see India as a major production hub for our products across the world, and each year, we work towards reducing imports, boosting production, and want to export more. India as a country is winning competitively versus many other traditional Asian players, mainly China,” Pellicer said.
