<p>Two teachers, who were entrusted with the task of evaluating answer books of undergraduate students, but were found to be lacking basic knowledge of the subjects, are likely to be sacked.<br /><br /></p>.<p>According to sources, Dr B R Ambedkar University in Agra, which had called them as external examiners, would be submitting a report to state Governor Ram Naik in this regard.<br /><br />An assistant professor in English at a degree college at Dullahpur in UP’s Ghazipur district, could not even spell “evaluation” though this was what he was there for. He spelled it as “evalluation”, the varsity officials said.<br /><br />An official from the varsity said that the teacher also committed several mistakes in the application that he had written to the Controller of Examinations requesting to include him on the panel of external examiners.<br /><br />Similarly, an associate professor in Economics, a senior faculty at a degree college in Jaunpur district, could not expand the full form of IMF (International Monetary Fund).<br /><br />The two faculty members were removed from the evaluation work after it was found that they did not possess even the basic knowledge of their subjects.<br /><br />“We cannot expect such teachers to evaluate the answer books in a fair manner and so they have been withdrawn from evaluation work,” said a senior official of the varsity.<br /><br />Sources said that the governor, who is the chancellor of the varsity, had sought a report in this regard. <br /><br />According to sources, the teachers could face stern action, including dismissal. <br />“Such teachers are a disgrace to the profession....what will they give to the students when they themselves do not know anything...no wonder we have toppers who cannot write alphabets,” said Prof. Dinesh Kumar, a former faculty at Lucknow University here.<br /><br /><em>An assistant professor in English at a degree college at Dullahpur in UP’s Ghazipur district, could not even spell “evaluation” though this was what he was there for. </em><br /></p>
