The Secret Life of Pets
English (U/A) ¬¬¬¬
Cast: Kevin Hart, Louis C K, Eric Stonestreet, Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper
Directors: Chris Renaud & Yarrow Cheney

Max (voiceover by Louis) who considers himself to be the luckiest dog in New York City is upset after his human owner Katie (Kemper) adopts a huge shaggy named Duke (Stonestreet). While jealousy takes roots, there is something worst in store when Max and Duke one fine day lose their way in the concrete jungle. Caught by Animal Control and placed under the mercy of Snowball (Hart), they must work together to make it home.

The film is one of the funniest animation flicks in recent times. On top of the excellent voice cast leading with Hart’s non-ending loud dialogues, the plot is quite engaging. The kids will easily get a sense of what is going on without much pain while parents can appreciate the amount of work put into the screenplay and the excellent graphics. The simple moral lessons embedded in each character are also a welcome step.

Overall, this film is a family entertainer. And those with pets will love it even more — now you get a chance to see what your pets might do when you leave them at home alone. It might even inspire you to install a CCTV camera to find out more about their lives.
