Giving information on loans sanctioned to liquor baron Vijay Mallya could create hurdles in his prosecution, State Bank of India has said, in reply to RTI applications.
RTI activist Anil Galgali had sought information on the total quantum of loans extended to Mallya, founder of Kingfisher Airlines, along with details of the meetings during which the loan proposals were approved.
Replying to the query, the deputy general manager and public information officer (stressed assets management branch) said the case is sub-judice and pending before the enquiry commission. Thus, deriving exemption from disclosure under Section 8(1)(h) of the Right to Information Act, information cannot be provided, he said.
