Prohibitory orders imposed in Kolar taluk

Vigilance stepped up in major areas

In view of spordiac violence in some parts of the State on Monday, tahsildar S M Mangala has imposed prohibitory orders in Kolar taluk for three days from Tuesday 8am as a precautionary measure.


During the prohibitory period any assembly of more than four persons, public meetings, delivering inflammatory speech are banned.  

The violence was triggered in some parts of the State by a protest against a translation of a write up by Bangladeshi writer Tasleema Nasreen published by a Kannada daily. Violence was reported in  Shimoga and Hassan.

To maintain law and order in the taluk Circle Inspector had appealed for issuing prohibitory orders. Accordingly the deputy commissioner instructed to issue prohibitory orders in the taluk.

As per his instructions prohibitory orders were issued said tahsildar in a release.

District SP K Tyagarajan told Deccan Herald that vigilance has been stepped up in sensitive areas.
