The Sampigehalli police arrested Raja alias Manja (22) near a coconut farm behind Prithvi theatre on Ring Road in Nagawara.

He had fled after allegedly murdering Hari Shankar Vishwakarma, an operator of cement concrete mixing machine at a software company.
Raja is alleged to have stabbed the victim several times during broad daylight on February 24, police said.

Recently, the Bangalore police came out with a booklet comprising names and photographs of persons involved in criminal activities, including Raja’s. The booklets were given to all police stations.

The Sampigehalli police released a few photographs of persons with criminal background. A few police informers in the area had seen Raja passing by the software company office minutes after the murder, clutching some currency notes.
They immediately alerted police who found him to be elusive as he kept shifting residence. Finally, they succeeded in arresting him near the coconut farm. Another suspect involved in the murder is still at large, added the police.

Teenager killed
In another incident, the police arrested Munireddy (45), a resident of Bellandur on charges of murdering a 19-year-old girl. Munireddy was earlier imprisoned for murdering his wife. Recently, he came out of the prison and began living with relatives at Bellandur. He became friends with Shobha (19), a distant relative. On February 2, he took her to a desolate place, strangled her with her dupatta and fled, leaving the body on the spot.
Police suspect Munireddy was suffering from a psychological disorder ever since he murdered his wife.

Other arrests were those of Bharath Kumar (23), Anand Kumar (20) and Santosh (19), all from Amruthalli.

The three men had gone missing after allegedly murdering their friend Srinivas over a petty issue on February 19.
They had dragged Srinivas out of his house and attacked with lethal weapons, causing serious injuries. Srinivas died in hospital.
Yelahanka police arrested Nagabhushan Reddy (25) of Sanjeevarayanahalli village, Gauribidnur taluk within 24 hours after he killed an elderly woman. He attacked Adamma (65) with a lethal weapon at a farm, resulting in her death. He fled with her cellphone and Rs 600.

Adamma, a small-time money lender, was staying alone in a farm house of her relative Vijaya Raghavendra Reddy. Nagabhushan, who knew about her, assumed that she carried huge sums on her person and killed her for gain, police said.
