Kabali hysteria in Bengaluru (Video)

Last Updated 22 July 2016, 12:41 IST
Rajinikanth fans stood in long queues all night long on Thursday to buy tickets for Kabali, which released in over 80 theatres in Bengaluru. The first show in many theatres started at as early as 2 am.

The fan frenzy for Kabali was near hysterical in Bengaluru, Rajinikanth’s hometown. There was a long procession of boisterous fans carrying a 300 feet long banner. There was also a decked-up chariot carrying Rajini photo.

Fans burst crackers, broke coconuts and poured milk over large cutouts.  Some dressed like Rajni in Kabali and many sang the hit number Neruppa da from the movie.  Cinema halls were flooded with fans wearing Kabali T-shirts.

There were also some who did not take part in the festivities. Rajini fans, who had failed to get tickets, wore a forlorn look. And there were police, who struggled to control the crowd and allow the traffic move.
