JOIN USA small cafeteria neatly tucked into one of the lanes in Indiranagar, ‘Pot-O-Noodles’ is a recently opened eatery in the area, specialising in Pan Asian cuisine. Their aim, says Subhankar Dar (the owner and a trained Pan Asian chef), is to provide people with healthy Asian food.
The decor is simple with catchy lighting and pale yellow and red painted walls. The potted plants impart a very cosy feeling to the place. The restaurant mainly concentrates on providing good food and can accomodate about 35 people.
The food here is a must try for anyone who loves Pan Asian fare.
The bright and colourful menu is definitely inviting and they specialise in ‘Ramen’ (Japanese noodles). The simple and healthy starters like ‘Lettuce wraps’ filled with either vegetables or meat are a good way to begin your Oriental meal.
The dim sum and wontons are also quite tasty and spicy. The starters are generally served in an authentic manner on banana leaves with plates underneath.
The fastest-moving dish is the ‘Ramen burgers’, which are a visual treat as the burger’s top and base are made of Ramen noodles and the filling comprises either vegetables or meat.
The ‘Seafood ramen’ and ‘Pork ramen’ are two really good choices.
In the seafood ramen, the noodles are served with seafood and mushrooms accompanied with coconut broth while the ‘Pork ramen’ is served with shiitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, a runny egg and succulent pork meat.
The ‘Donburi’ section is a favourite among the office crowd. Within that, the ‘Oriental teriyaki style prawns with lo-mein noodles’ is worth trying as the noodles are made of wheat flour, a much healthier substitute. The ‘Wonton basket with honey minced pork and chilli’ is also delicious. Noon time sees a lot of youngsters coming in for a quick meal. The only downside is the seating benches which have no backrest and water is the only beverage served to accompany the food.
