Stemming from the idea to create a customised “Google experience” for women, 24-year-old Bani G Anand came up with the concept of All About Eve – an online, interactive and collaborative platform which curates fashion, beauty, health and fitness, home décor, food tips, to name a few.

From finding the best options for an evening snack to new cosmetics and home décor items, All About Eve is for the women on social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube where vendors promote their products and services. “There were several portals and platforms that I had to follow to be able to do justice to every facet of my personality. That’s when I thought of creating one such platform that would cover the basic desire of the ‘eve’ of today and would interest most women. I realised that such a platform will help them save time,” Anand tells Metrolife.

So how does it work? “From a 12 year-old, who is interested in fashion tips, to a grandmother who wants to know about kitchen herbs or dal recipes, it caters to all women. It hosts a range of products, from day-to-day needs to uber-luxurious brands. Also, as first of its kind, collaborative branding platform, it leaves a lot of room for quirk and creativity. We facilitate vendors in reaching out to their target audience without huge investments through customised and innovative social media campaigns by evaluating the product and building a story line,” says the accounting and finance graduate from the University of Warwick.

She adds, “It’s more than the conventional ‘click a picture and post it on Instagram’. We sell a lifestyle. We tell a story. We facilitate all the eves in not just what they like and want but how to avail it – it’s the message from our team to them.”

Ask her how it is different from other online and collaborative portals and she quips, “All About Eve goes beyond a mere listing of service providers; we want to help women make informed decisions. The concept is to communicate ideas to women through the means of recommended vendors.”

The portal has curators and brands in the fashion, jewellery, interiors, healthcare and wellness industry like Suneet Varma, Ridhima Bhasin, Ritika Bhasin, Pooja Rajpal Jaggi, Malasa, Ananya Bansal, The Carpet Cellar, Dansync, To be Healthy, Junglee Billee, Jaya’s Cakewalk, Spezia Bistro and Namaha Healthcare among others.

Coming from an established business family, Anand feels that “one is always looked at with suspicion” as easy money can give birth to a lot of ideas and ventures. “Also, the space that we operate in is highly disorganised and lacks credible content. Being a new kid on the block, we have to not only strengthen our base and build our business but also constantly face more such challenges,” she says.
