'Rs 420 lakh for devt of lakes'

Speaking to presspersons in Kadur on Wednesday, he said under RIDF project, Nabard has sanctioned Rs 25 lakh to develop Bakinakere in Kadur-Birur hobli. Rs 25 lakh has been given for the development of Thumbinavanda kere. Irrigation department has prepared an estimated and tender process is on.

He said under watershed development project, Rs 850 lakh has been given for the development of lakes under PPP mode. Water Users Association has been constituted in several villages to undertake the development work.

Krishnamurthy said Rs 60 lakh has been released under Sarva Shikshana Abiyana to Kadur-Birur education zone to construction classrooms during 2009-10. Rs 52.05 lakh has been released for PU Colleges at Chowlahiriyur, Yagati, Birur, Panchanahalli. The incomplete classrooms will be completed.

About Rs 4 crore has been given to seven Suvarna grama of Chikkangala, Basooru, Yallambalase, Garje, Singatagere, Kunkanadu and Asandi villages.
He said under Rural road development, Rs 74 lakh has been released for the repair of road from Kadurahalli to Maradihalli road. Wate tanks have been constructed at Emmedoddi and surrounding villages.
