Water problem worsens as temperature soars

Minister promises permanent solution

Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, the BJP leader said both the districts are  facing acute drinking water shortage.
Almost all the water bodies in both the districts had dried up and the underground water table  has .

The people are unable to cope with the drinking water shortage, he said. Water is not available even beyond  1,000 feet in these districts. And whatever water is available for drinking, it is available with flouride content.
The people were falling sick drinking flouride-contaminated water, Ravinarayana Reddy expressed his concern.

Increase storage capacity
The minister for water resources had been appealed to find a permanent solution to the drinking water crisis prevailing in these two districts. The Government should implement a project to increase the storage capacity of the water bodies to store rainwater in Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts. It should devise a suitable project to solve the problems of the people here, he added.

The Government is being pressurised to implement these projects in the present year itself. The water resources minister had assured that permanent measures will be implemented by the Government in both the districts, Ravinarayana Reddy said.
Kolar district BJP President N S Shriram, Chikkaballapur taluk president C V Lokesh, M N Shashidhar, BJP leaders Krishna Rao, Mudduveerappa, Shafiullah, Ramesh Rao, Muralidhar, Jayanna and several others were present on the occasion.
