A remake of the 1984 horror-comedy flick, Ghostbusters (by the same title) comes with a major twist in this edition — instead of an all-male cast, it’s an all-female crew who will save New York City from the undead.

So, we have the unlikely pack of supernatural experts Abby (McCarthy) and Erin (Wiig), nuclear scientists Jillian (McKinnon) and subway worker named Patty (Jones) pitched against the paranormal beings.  Getting into the basics, Ghostbusters has little to do with horror.

It is basically bashing slimly supernatural baddies with loud and gross action stunts. Nonetheless, the film is still engrossing. It may not meet the original in terms of its balanced spicy cocktail of brash jokes and scary moments, but the cast share a perfect onscreen chemistry. The ladies put their best foot forward and as always McCarthy shows she’s got the kick when it comes to comedy.

The film’s focus on women empowerment will also make you feel good while the hilarious dialogues and action stunts guarantee many laughs.
