Govt hopes to pass more bills

 With the GST logjam set to be broken, the government now sees scope for more legislation to be passed by Parliament in the remaining two weeks of the monsoon session.

The government floor managers said that socially, educationally and medically important legislation have been lined up for consideration and passage by both the Houses.

Important among them in the Lok Sabha are legislation on amending the Citizenship Act and providing a national policy for ensuring overall development and welfare of transgenders to be undertaken by the states.
