Dhankot grabs lead in Masters round

Defending champion Shabbir Dhankot of Tamil Nadu started the campaign in the Masters Round in fine fashion, scoring a total pinfall of 1901 pins, with an average of 237.63 in the Open category of the ARC 2nd Bangalore Open Tenpin Bowling Championship currently underway at Blu-O, Orion Mall here on Saturday. 

Dhankot started with an impressive score of 248 in his first game and followed it up with scores of 200 plus in the next seven games (257, 214, 249, 219, 234, 214, 266), to take the lead at the end of first block of eight games. He is followed by Dhruv Sarda in second position, who scored a total pinfall of 1818 (228, 188, 248, 237, 269, 268, 180, 200).

Huned Khokhar (1789 pins), Akaash Ashok Kumar (1738 pins) and Vijay Punjabi (1725 pins) from Karnataka are in the third, fourth and fifth positions respectively. Teen sensation Misam Rizvi (1645 pins),is placed ninth. In the Men’s Graded A Category, Hitesh Khanna of Delhi won the title with total pinfall of 2114 in ten games. Anthony Rajkumar of Karnataka finished second with pinfall of 2060. Uttar Pradesh’s Utkarsh Sinha (2054 pins) finished third by a narrow margin of six pins.
