Strengthening his fan base

DHNS

He’s young, raring to go and wants to show off what he’s got to offer. Looks like there’s really nothing that can hold back 22-year-old Sidhartha Mallya, who has put his body, heart and soul into getting Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to victory in IPL 3.

passionate Sidhartha Mallya“I love every kind of sport. I have led the hockey team at the university level. Cricket is my passion and I am just as excited as any other 22-year-old to watch the IPL,” Sidhartha told Metrolife.

He’s confident but a stickler to the detail. “Please make sure that you spell my name correctly. It’s Sidhartha. A lot of people don’t get the spelling right,” he says making sure the clarity is not interrupted. “We’re going all out this season to get our fans as engrossed as possible because without them the RCB wouldn’t be where it is today,” he opines.

Talking about Fanatic Fans Challenge 2 contest Sidhartha says, “This is to identify three Royal Challengers fans with exceptional writing, photography and motivational skills. This team will have the privilege of travelling along with the Royal Challengers as the official staff and granted preferential access to all RCB matches. It’s a scene where the fans of RCB will be writing for the other fans.”

Sidhartha says that they would like to strengthen their fan base, which is a step further in supporting the team on and off the field.

On what drives the RCB, Sidhartha observes that the team comprises accomplished players, each established in his own right. “Last year just when we thought that the team was dead and buried, we witnessed an exceptional performance, thanks to the indomitable spirit of the team and coaching by Ray Jennings. We are confident that we would go a step further from the last season,” he remarked.

Talking about hockey, Sidhartha observes that what largely drives hockey is passion. “It’s only in India that cricket is such a craze,” he sums up.
