The BJP will have a new state-of-the-art headquarters at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah will lay the foundation for the new building on Thursday.

The two-acre plot will have three blocks, two of them housing three-storey building each and the last one seven floors. The BJP wants to move from the existing 11 Ashoka Road premises, into the swanky Wi-Fi-enabled building on December 25, 2018, to coincide with former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday, party sources said.

Union ministers, top party leaders and BJP chief ministers will be present at the grand “bhoomi poojan” ceremony which will start at 8 am. The complex will have four auditoriums of different seating capacities.

The biggest one will accommodate 450 people and the smaller one will have 50 seats. Besides, there will be 100 rooms for party president, MPs and other office-bearers.

Each of them will have video conferencing facility to aid quicker communication among the party’s national office-bearers and state units.
