BRICS Wellness workshop in B'luru from tomorrow

The Union government is organising a two-day BRICS Wellness workshop in Bengaluru starting  September 10. The workshop to be held at Hotel Shangrila will be attended by delegates from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) to explore areas of mutual co-operation. The workshop is being organised jointly by the Ministry of Ayush, Ministry of External Affairs and the Karnataka government.

Addressing reporters here on Thursday, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Shalini Rajneesh said the workshop is a run-up to the BRICS summit to be held in Goa from October 15-16. Heads of state of the member nations of BRICS will attend the summit.

Co-parallel to the workshop in Bengaluru, Ministry of Ayush, Karnataka government and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry are organising ‘Arogya’, a four-day health fair on Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy at Gayathri Vihar, Palace Grounds here from September 10-13. The fair will be inaugurated on September 10 at 5 pm.

International researchers, manufacturers and processors from 13 states will participate in the fair. The National Medicinal Plant Board will organise a buyer-seller meet on September 10, where over 500 farmers from Karnataka and neighbouring states will interact with over 150 industries. Entry to the fair is free and will be open to public from 11 am to 8 pm.
