Selection of 'C' category players for Mangalore Premier League on September 11

The third edition of Mangalore Premier League (MPL) will be held between December 17 and 31 at Dr B R Ambedkar Stadium, Panambur.

The selection of C Category players will be held at St Aloysius College Centenary Ground at 8.30 am on September 11.

MPL Coordinator Balakrishna Maddodi said the selection of Group A and Group B players is going on and the lists of players will be put up on www.krcaindia.com. Around 500 players from KSCA Mangalore zone had registered to play in the MPL. Among them, 48 players have been selected for Group A and 36 for Group B.

Immediately after the KPL, 24 KPL players will be picked up to play in the MPL as icon players. Two KPL players will be alloted to 12 MPL teams (two KPL players in each team).

Selection trials
The selection trials will be held at the St Aloysius College Centenary Ground on September 11. The players of Mangaluru zone, born in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts and working or studying in Mangaluru zone, are eligible to take part in the selection trials.

All the players have to attend the selection camp in cricket attire and playing kit.
There will be no registration fee, he said.
