The Cauvery dispute has badly affected life at the border town of Attibele, which is an important transit point between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Fearing violence Karnataka police are stopping state buses on the border. For the same reason Tamil Nadu police is not allowing their buses to enter Karnataka.

People, who have to go to Tamil Nadu, get off at Karnataka border, walk for half a kilometre and catch a different bus. People coming from Tamil Nadu do the same though from the opposite direction.

The heavy deployment of police and the sight of people crossing the line of control with their luggage have made Attibele look like an international border. Some say the scenes at this border town reminds them of visuals taken during India Pakistan partition.

Students, workers and businessman, who cross the border regularly, are badly hit as it takes more time to reach their destination now. An estimated 15,000 people, who work in Bengaluru's industrial suburbs, live in Hosur.

The people of Attibele say their town is peaceful and there is no need to barricade it. But the police after having seen what the Cauvery dispute can do to the emotions of people are not taking any chances.
