‘Tickets only for committed candidates’
BBMP elections: Parties busy choosing worthy candidates
'The Congress will be fielding only those candidates who are committed to the party’s ideology and have maintained a good track record,' said KPCC president R V Deshpande here on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters, Deshpande said the party will be looking into the antecedents of the aspirants before finalising the list. He made it clear that the party would not tie-up with JD(S) for the polls.
He informed that the party will be holding a march from Mysore Bank Circle to Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday evening to protest the acquisition of fertile land. Permission to hold the rally was not given due to prohibitory orders around Vidhana Soudha. “The protest will be carried out despite this,” he said.
