JOIN USThe junior school prize giving ceremony of Bishop Cotton Boys’ School was held recently. Parents gathered at the auditorium to see their children being feted for excellence in academics and co-curricular activities.
The ceremony opened with the school song, followed by a prayer. The students outdid themselves through a variety of cultural performances — music, dance and even a dance drama — delighting the audience for over two hours.
Chief guest Arundhati Nag, theatre and film artiste, and guests of honour Cleta Sonnemann, advocate and soft-skills trainer, and Francois Gautier, Consul General of France, gave away the prizes.
Amoghaditya bagged the ‘Krishna Wangal Award’ for excellence in academics, Ganapathy K A won the ‘Navin Paul Memorial Award’ for a hardworking, motivated and willing learner’ and Kevin Richaard G won the ‘Rev Canon Elphick Award’ for the boarder who has excelled in academics.
The ‘Rev G U Pope Trophy’ for the best all-rounder went to Sohaam R, the ‘Rev I L Thomas Trophy’ for the best musician in the junior school went to Jonah Kirubakar Jebasingh and the ‘C W Ainley Trophy’ for the best sportsman went to Kevin Issac. Vihaan Yogesh was conferred with the title ‘Dr A Ebenezer — Most Promising Student’ and Pradhyoth Shah with ‘Daivik Mayur Memorial — the Most Disciplined Student’ title.
The audience cheered Toshan Reddy on as he received the ‘I L Thomas Prize’ for the most outstanding special child in the junior school from Arundhati Nag. Scores of other students from classes 1 to 5 were recognised for their achievements
as well. The school choir presented an impeccable performance of ‘Let it go’ from the Disney animation hit ‘Frozen’. The comical skit also had evergreen numbers from films like ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ and ‘Padosan’.
