The police arrested five persons for threatening and injuring Infosys Limited’s employees during Cauvery riots on September 12 in the city.

The suspects have been identified as Venkatesh, 46, Puttaswamy, 24, Chethan BL, Rakesh, 19 and Basavaraj, 40, all residents of Mysuru. The Kengeri police arrested them on Tuesday and produced them before a court. The judge remanded the suspects in judicial custody, the police added.

The company’s regional manager Balakrishna P had lodged a complaint on September 29 with the police stating that 10 buses were ferrying the company’s employees to drop them at their houses on September 12. About 200 persons had accosted the buses on NICE Road near PES College tollgate. The miscreants had directed the employees to join them in the protest and raise slogans against the government. They even stoned the buses in which two women employees were injured. The employees were forced to get down from the buses and walk to their houses, Balakrishna had added in the complaint.

The police established identity of the suspects based on photographs and CCTV footage from nearby areas and arrested them.
