Non-bailable warrant issued against 'godman' in abduction case
A non-bailable warrant has been issued by the district court here against a 40-year-old self-styled godman Anoop Kumar Sahai who had allegedly abducted his 28-year-old cousin from Raj Nagar here.
The district court yesterday issued the non-bailable warrant against the godman and directed to police to produce him before the court after arresting him.
The godman had allegedly kidnapped Priyanka Srivastava, a MBA student, on February 15. On a complaint filed by the girl's mother Sudha Srivastava, a case of kidnapping has been registered against the Godman, who is at large after the missing of the girl.
The police conducted raids at his houses in Ghaziabad and Gorakhpur and an ashram in Rishikesh but there are no clues about his whereabouts. It is suspected that he might have fled abroad and notices in this regard have been sent to airport authorities in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai, SSP Raghubir Lal said, adding a look-out notice has also been issued against him.
If the godman does not surrender, his properties will be attached, the SSP said.
